‘The Amazing Spider-Man’ actor Andrew Garfield has stated that he wants to take a break from acting after having worked practically non stop all of last year.

The 38-year-old actor said that he wanted to rest for some time because he needs to “recalibrate and reconsider” his choices in the future. In 2021, Garfield had three releases – ‘The Eyes of Tammy Faye’, ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’ and ‘Tick Tick… Boom!’.

Andrew Garfield found instant fame when he played Spider-Man in ‘The Amazing Spider-Man’ which released in 2012. He later worked on the sequel, ‘The Amazing Spider-Man 2’ as well, which released in 2014 and finally reprised his role, for what he insists for the last time in the 2021 MCU movie, ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’.

In addition, the actor has also recently wrapped up filming for the limited series, ‘Under the Banner of Heaven’.

Speaking about his decision to take a break, Garfield told Variety, “I'm going to rest for a little bit. I need to recalibrate and reconsider what I want to do next and who I want to be and just be a bit of a person for a while.” He added, "I need to just be a bit ordinary for a while."

Andrew Garfield has decided to take some rest after finishing work on ‘Under the Banner of Heaven’, which is said to be an adaptation of a 2003 true-crime book of the same name authored by Jon Krakauer.

In the series, Garfield will be playing the role of a Mormon detective, who will be investigating the brutal double murder of a baby girl and her mother (played by Daisy Edgar-Jones). The double murder was orchestrated by the fundamentalist followers of the Church of Christ of Latter-day Saints.
