Actor Dhanush who is a superstar in Tamil cinema and is known for his intense performances in Hindi Cinema, took to Twitter yesterday to congratulate his estranged wife Aishwarya Rajnikanth on her new music video.
In the tweet, he wrote, “Congrats my friend @ash_r_dhanush on your music video #payani! God bless.”

Dhanush and Aishwarya announced their separation in January 2022, ending 18 years of marriage. They have two children.
The song ‘Payani’ has been directed by Aishwarya Rajnikanth. It is a multi-lingual song that has been made in four Indian languages – Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam and Telugu. The song is titled differently in each language as well, with the Tamil song being called ‘Payani’, Hindi song titled ‘Musafir’, the Telugu song has been titled, ‘Yatrakkaran’ and the Telugu song titled as ‘Sanchari’.
In Tamil, this song has been sung by Anirudh Ravichander, the Malayalam version has been sung by Ranjith Govind, the Hindi version has been voiced by Ankit Tiwari while the Telugu version has been sung by Sagar.
The South version of the song released on Thursday while the Hindi version, ‘Musafir’ is expected to release on March 22.
Aishwarya Rajnikanth, daughter of South megastar Rajnikanth is currently in the hospital recuperating from fever and vertigo. She was earlier in the hospital because she contracted Covid, though she has since recovered from that.
Dhanush and Aishwarya tied the knot in 2004. They have two sons Yatra Raja, who is 15 years old and Linga Raja who is 11-years old. This is the first time Dhanush has reached out to Aishwarya since the news of their separation and he seems to be making a statement by calling her his ‘friend’.
