America’s prestigious music awards, The Grammys has announced the first set of global artists who will be performing live on stage at the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas.
According to Variety, the 64th Annual Grammy Awards will be broadcasted live on April 13, 2022 at 8 PM Eastern Time. The show will be live on CBS and the online streaming live and on demand will happen on Paramount +.
The Grammy’s will be hosted by the host of ‘The Daily Show’ Trevor Noah and Grammy’s have announced the first line-up of global performers who will kick off the musical night.
The line-up includes, current nominees, BTS, Billie Eillish, Brothers Osborne, Olivia Rodrigo, Brandi Carlie and Lil Nas X with Jack Harlow.
South Korean K-pop sensation and global icons BTS have been nominated for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance for ‘Butter’. Country music duo – Brothers Osborn have earned two Grammy nominations this year: Best Country Duo/Group Performance for ‘Younger Me’ and Best Country Album for ‘Skeleton’.
Brandi Carlie, who is a six time Grammy winner, has several nominations this year including Record of the Year, two songs nominated in Song of the Year, Best Pop Solo Performance and Best American Roots Performance.
The young music sensation, Billie Eilish who has already won seven Grammys has been nominated in seven categories this year. Lil Nas X, who has two Grammys to her name, has been nominated in 4 categories this year, while Olivia Rodrigo who has been nominated for the first time in Grammys is starting strong with seven nominations.
This is the second year in a row when BTS, South Korea’s global pop sensation band has been nominated for an award and are making a solo performance live on stage for the Grammys.
Last year they mesmerized the crowd with their hit song, ‘Dynamite’ which enthralled the audiences.
The Grammy Awards will be telecast live from the MGM Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada on Sunday, April 13.
